Scot is an award-winning architect with 23 years of experience in both public and private sectors and joined BCT in 2008 to establish the housing studio, along with Janet Reynolds. As a co-leader of this studio, Scot specializes in mixed-use projects that include retail, office and housing. In addition to his involvement in a number of urban, mixed-use and TOD projects, he is leading a significant adaptive reuse project in the urban core which has involved the acquisition of both State and Federal Historic Tax Credits. Scot brings a strong mix of creative design and practical insight to his projects and has built more than 2000 housing units in recent years.

Active in a number of national and regional organizations, Scot is a member of the Urban Land Institute's (ULI) Washington Chapter Housing Council, Maryland Building Industry Association (MBIA), American Institute of Architects (AIA), Urban Land Institute (ULI), United States Green Building Council (USGBC) and International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).

A design enthusiast and avid problem solver, Scot has produced a number of white papers, including ‘Design Strategies for Podium and Wrapper Buildings.” He received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Clemson University, and his Master of Architecture from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
